Abstract

Global Warming is international issue that often discussed ranging from scientists, researchers until general public. Main caused of global warming is depletion of ozone. The largest source of emissions is CO2 and CH4. Coal Mining influence air content in atmosphere through use of mechanical devices and exposed coal from spontaneous combustion. The purpose of research is know characteristic of temporary stockpile, determine flow of Coal Mine Methane (CMM), calculate Emission Factor (EF) and know tackling of spontaneous combustion at temporary stockpile in west bangko. PT.Bukit Asam (Persero), Tbk was occured spontaneous combustion that produces Coal Mine Methane (CMM) as source of emissions. Based on the processing and analysis of field obtained in a temporary stockpile that often occurs due to spontaneous combustion of coal pile height of more than 7 meters, coal already stacked more than 6 months, drain less work optimally, the presence of other minerals such as stone inserts pack, corner pile more than 40 degree. At the first minute CMM has not been detected yet in the next minute, CMM can be measured up to certain maximum point. Emissions Factor (EF) were generated from the Temporary Stockpile Bangko West is 0,09126 m3/ton. It's stated that in 1 ton of coal was occured spontaneous combustion it will produce 0,09126 m3 of methane gas emissions. Countermeasures against was used chemical fire tide in the form of a chemical solution and method of compaction to minimize porosity rock, so that the gases don't react with the coal in the air and prevented of spontaneous combustion.
