Abstract

Ischemic stroke is a stroke caused by a blood clot or embolism blocking a cerebral artery. Ischemic stroke occurs in almost 70-85% of cases and is the most common type of stroke. This ischemic stroke disease can be given antiplatelet drug therapy with a mechanism of action in the form of inhibiting platelet aggregation. The use of antiplatelet drugs needs to be investigated to know whether it will cause bleeding or recurrent stroke in the patient. This study was conducted with the aim of evaluating the use of antiplatelet drugs for ischemic stroke patients in the inpatient installation of Siti Khadijah Islamic Hospital Palembang in the period January 2018-December 2022. This study is observational using medical record data collected retrospectively. The research design is cross sectional, which is data collection done at one time. The sampling method used total sampling technique. The data obtained were 71 samples that met the inclusion criteria. The results showed that the evaluation of the use of antiplatelet drugs in ischemic stroke patients was known to be 100% correct diagnosis, 100% correct indication, 100% correct drug selection, 100% correct dose, 100% correct patient, 100% correct route of administration, 100% correct duration of administration and 100% alert of side effects. The conclusion of this study is that the use of antiplatelets for ischemic stroke patients has met 8 parameters of drug use evaluation criteria.
