Abstract

Carbon dioxide emissions as a result of human activities have warmed the earth's temperature causing climate change and global warming. Environmental damage is real and has been proven by the anomaly of climate change which causes the world's average temperature to rise. This study aims to analyze the effect of Gross Domestic Product, energy consumption and forest area on carbon dioxide emissions in 5 ASEAN countries, namely Indonesia, Thailand, Malaysia, Singapore and the Philippines in 2001-2020. The data used is secondary data sourced from the World Bank and Our World In Data. The method in this study used quantitative descriptive analysis with panel data regression analysis techniques. The results show that Gross Domestic Product and forest area have a negative and significant effect on carbon dioxide emissions. Then energy consumption has a positive and significant effect on carbon dioxide emissions.
