Abstract

Peneitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh pemberian ektrak lidah buaya dan daun jambu biji sebagai antibiotik alami terhadap performa kualitas tebal kerabang telur, berat kerabangt telur, tinggi putih telur, dan tinggi kuning telur. Penelitian ini menggunakan burung puyuh umur 42 hari sebanyak 100 ekor. Penelitian ini menggunakan rancangan acak lengkap (RAL) dengan 5 perlakuan dan 4 ulangan. Perlakuan terdiri atas: R0 (positif control) = diinfeksi E.coli + tidak diberi suplemen, R1(negative control) = Tidak diinfeksi E. coli + tidak diberi suplemen, R2 = diinfeksi E. coli + suplementasi ekstrak lidah buaya (2%), R3 = diinfeksi E. coli + suplementasi ekstrak lidah buaya (4%), R4 = diinfeksi E. coli + suplementasi lidah buaya (2%) + daun jambu biji (2%). Peubah yang diamati berat telur, berat kuning telur, berat putih telur dan nilai haugh unit telur burung puyuh. Hasil peneliitian ini menunjukkan bahwa suplementasi ekstrak lidah buaya dan daun jambu biji dalam air minu pada burung puyuh dapat mempengaruhi tebal kerabang namun belum dapat mempengaruhi berat kerabang, tinggi putih telur, dan tinggi kuning telur.
