Abstract

Employment is made one of the main priorities to encourage development progress by the Government. This research is due to the fact that labor inspection has not been maximized, resulting in several illegal foreign workers. This study discusses the implementation of Palembang Mayor Regulation number 84 of 2016 in chapter VI article 17 regarding the development and supervision of labor in the permission to employ foreign workers in the city of Palembang. The purpose of this study was to determine the successful implementation of Palembang Mayor Regulation number 84 of 2016 in chapter VI Article 17 regarding the development and supervision of employment of permits to employ foreign workers in the city of Palembang. The method used is descriptive qualitative. Data collection techniques using interviews, observation, and documentation. The discussion is focused on knowing the implementation of labor inspection. The results showed that the Palembang Mayor's Regulation number 84 of 2016 in chapter VI article 17 concerning guidance and supervision of permits to employ foreign workers in the city of Palembang, as a whole could be said to be running smoothly. However, in terms of using the theory of Ripley and Franklin, there are still some that have not been maximized. Meanwhile, regulations regarding the use and supervision of foreign workers are clearly regulated in legislation. Suggestions generated in this study, there should be good communication between the government and TKA users, as well as labor inspectors and Foreign Workers, so there is no impression of being less supportive
