Abstract

In the current era of globalization, the use of water vapor is very broad in the industry. This has an impact on the fulfillment of energy or fuel needs, which will also increase, where the industrial world is one of the biggest consumers of energy and fuel. With these conditions, suppressing energy waste and attention to energy conservation is important to do. Energy conservation which is energy use efficiently and rationally without reducing energy use which is really needed. The potential for energy conservation in all sectors has enormous savings opportunities. One tool that is capable of producing water vapor is a boiler. Boilers are closed vessels where combustion heat is flowed into the water until steam is formed. Steam at a certain pressure is then used to drain heat into a production process. In the process of increasing temperature or combustion based on thermodynamic principles and heat transfer caused by differences in temperature, from low temperatures to high temperatures This study aims to identify the effect of energy use on the thermal package efficiency of the boiler 3007-U PUSRI 3 at PT. Pupuk Sriwidjaja Palembang. And analyze the effect of energy use and steam energy content produced by the boiler for 1 year (2017- 2018). From this study it was found that the steam energy content produced by xvi boilers with an average steam energy produced by boilers in 2017 was 33587.48952 kW and for heat energy was 48603.885834 kW. Whereas in 2018 the steam energy content produced was 299860,85834 kW and for heat energy was 47749,77774 kW. So that the efficiency of the boiler package is obtained with an average of 69.12% in 2017 and in 2018 the average efficiency is 62.58%. In one year (2017-2018) boiler efficiency decreased by 6.54%. The use of fuel energy and the energy content of steam produced by the boiler is very influential on the efficient boiler. That the higher the energy content of steam produced, the use of fuel energy will increase or in other words the use of fuel energy is directly proportional to the content of steam energy produced. From the results of the analysis that has been done that the decrease in boiler efficiency can be caused by the many heat losses that occur in the boiler.
