Abstract
Background : To increase the coverage of exclusive breastfeeding, the government issued Government Regulation No. 33 of 2012 concerning exclusive breastfeeding. Based on data from Batam District Health in 2017, the coverage of exclusive breastfeeding in the work area of Botania Health Center is 22.8%. The achievement still wasn’t yet reach the national target 80%. The objective of this research was to analyze the implementation of the exclusive breastfeeding policy at the working area of Botania Health Center. Methode : The design of this research was qualitative research used in-depth interview method, observation and document review. The informants were 10 people, consists of Head of Public Health Care, PP ASI, Private Midwives, midwives in Botania Health Center and Mothers who have 6-12 month old baby. Result : The results showed that the implementation of exclusive breastfeeding policy in the Botania Health Center had not run optimally both in terms of the implementation of the policy process including indicators of information and education, the implementation of IMD and the provision of formula feeding was not in accordance with Government Regulation No. 33 of 2012 concerning Provision of Exclusive Breastfeeding. In the policy context there are still many factors that hinder mothers in giving exclusive breastfeeding, namely working mother factors and family support factors that are still low. Conclusion : The implementation of exclusive breastfeeding policies in the Botania Health Center has not been fully implemented in accordance with Government Regulation No. 33 of 2012 concerning exclusive breastfeeding. So that policy implementers need to provide information and education as a whole with the use of audio visual technology
