Abstract

The use of medical devices is one of the factors in the spread of disease due to medical devices that are not guaranteed sterilization. To be able to overcome this, efforts are made to sterilize medical devices using a sterilization machine whose process and use are in accordance with applicable sterilization standards, namely by using high temperatures to be able to kill microorganisms on medical devices that can cause the spread of disease. The heat used for the sterilization process is using the physical method and with a temperature of 170ºC using dry heat for 60 minutes. The sterilization machine consists of an induction heating module, heating coil and thermometer. Rotary potentiometer is used to adjust the voltage supplied to the sterilization machine, the voltage variations used are 11 volts; 11.5 volts and 12 volts. The potentiometer has a resistance value so that the voltage supplied is reduced. At a voltage of 11 volts, on one of the induction heating modules the output voltage is 9.94 volts the current flowing is 0.33 amperes and the time required to reach a temperature of 170ºC is 34.22 minutes. The voltage value is directly proportional to the current and power values and inversely proportional to the time required for the sterile machine to reach a temperature of 170ºC.
