Abstract

Pulai Baai Port in Bengkulu is an area that receives domestic waste from local residents. Environmental stress in the waters affects the abundance of large animals. The purpose of this study was to determine the density of species in the waters of Pulau Baai Bangluru, relative density, index of macrofauna communities and their relationship with physical and chemical factors. The procedure of this research includes: sediment and large animal sampling at four locations, measurement of water physical and chemical parameters, analysis of sediment content, identification of large animals and data analysis. The results showed that there were 7 species of large gastropods divided into 3 categories, namely gastropods, bivalves and plasmodiums. The results of the sediment fraction analysis consisted of loamy sand and sandy loam. The highest diversity and uniformity index values were found at station 3, respectively 1.55 and 0.82. The highest dominance index is 0.44 (station 4) and the lowest is 0.24 at station 3. PCA analysis shows that there is a relationship between density, sediment fraction and physico-chemical parameters of the waters.
