Abstract
ABSTRACT The goldfish is an ornamental fish that has color variations ncluding red, yellow, white, orange, black and silver . The study aims to determine the effect from the addition of carrot flour as feed additive to enhance of scales color goldfish. This research was conducted on October - November 2018 at Laboratorium Kolam Percobaan, Aquaculture Study Program, Faculty of Agriculture, Sriwijaya University. Completely Randomized Design (CRD) was used in this experiment with 4 treatments (T) and 3 replications. It was consisted of control or without carrot flour (T0), 5% of carrot flour in feed, 10% of carrot flour in feed (T2), 5% of carrot flour in the feed (T3). Parameters observed about quality of scales color goldfish, weight of fish, feed consumption, survival rate and water quality (temperature, pH and DO). The results showed that the addition of carrot flour in the feed significantly affected the brightness increase of the goldfish. However, it does not have a significant effect on growth in length and weight. The brightness values of the goldfish are 8.15 (P0), 24.23 (P1), 22.92 (P2) and 18.75 (P3). Growth length and weight are P0 (0.87 cm and 0.85 g), P1 (0.99 cm and 1.04 g), P2 (0.89 cm and 0.63) and P3 (0.99 cm and 0, 54 g). Survival was P0 (93.33%), P1 (100%), P2 (100%) and P3 (100%). The range of water quality during maintenance is 25.0 - 35.80 C, pH 6.5 - 8.9 and DO 4.09 - 6.30 mg / L
