Abstract

Rimpang temu mangga (Curcuma amada Roxb.) mengandung metabolit sekunder seperti flavonoid, kurkuminoid dan fenolik yang berpotensi memiliki aktivitas antiulcer. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui efek antiulcer ekstrak etanol rimpang temu mangga (EERTM) yang diinduksi etanol absolut. Efek antiulcer ini dilihat dari parameter seperti, evaluasi lesi lambung, pengukuran volume, pH, keasaman total, kadar mucin dan hispatologi lambung. Hewan uji dibagi menjadi 6 kelompok perlakuan, yaitu kelompok normal (Na-CMC 0,5%), kelompok negatif (Na-CMC 0,5%), kelompok positif (omeprazole 20 mg/kgBB), kelompok 1 dosis 100 mg/kgBB, kelompok 2 dosis 200 mg/kgBB dan kelompok 3 dosis 400 mg/kgBB. Perlakuan dilakukan selama 14 hari, kemudian hewan uji dipuasakan 24 jam dan diinduksi etanol absolut selama 2 jam untuk semua kelompok kecuali kelompok normal. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa kadar flavonoid, kurkuminioid, fenolik EERTM sebesar 3,77%, 2,01%, dan 6,69%. Kelompok 3 dosis 400 mg/kgBB menunjukkan efek antiulcer paling baik disbandingkan dosis lainnya dan berbeda signifikan dengan kelompok negatif (p<0,05). Berdasarkan kemampuannya menurunkan lesi lambung, menurunkan volume dan keasaman lambung, meningkatkan pH dan kadar mucin mukosa lambung dapat disimpulkan bahwa ekstrak etanol rimpang temu mangga memiliki aktivitas antiulcer.
