Abstract

Palembang is one of the major cities that struggles with flood issues, which includes the Seberang Ulu region of Palembang namely Aur, Sriguna, Kedukan, Keramasan, Kertapati, and Jakabaring watershed. The purpose of this research is to contribute to the flood control measures by providing flood mapping and modelling for decision makers and authorities. The data analysis is conducted through three processes, namely hydrological analysis, hydraulic analysis, and spatial analysis. The hydrological analysis incorporates the maximum daily rainfall data from the past 10 years, which is provided by BMKG Palembang. The calculation of average rainfall is performed using the isohyet method with the assistance of the IDW 3D Analyst tool in ArcGIS and the calculation of design using the HSS Nakayasu method. The hydraulic analysis involves river morphology extraction from Digital Elevation Model (DEM) using RAS Mapper in HEC-RAS version 6.3.1, followed by steady flow simulation to analyze longitudinal and cross-sectional river profiles. Steady flow simulations are conducted for normal water depth condition and during maximum tides. The simulation result is saved in raster format, which are then reclassified and the flood location points is verified with observed data. In normal water depth condition, the average maximum water level occurs in the Jakabaring watershed, reaching 0.69 meters with a flood area of 548.36 hectares. Meanwhile, in maximum river water level condition, the average maximum water level occurs in the Aur watershed, reaching 1.2 meters with a flood area of 196.92 hectares.
