Abstract

This research is entitled "Socio-Economic Life of Cual Fabric Weaving Craftsmen in Selindung Lama village Pangkalpinang, 2010-2019". This research was conducted with the aim of finding out how the socio-economic life of Cual cloth woven craftsmen is in the Selindung Lama village. The method used in this study is the historical method, through four stages, namely heuristics, criticism, interpretation, and historiography. The research data were obtained through library research, documentation, interviews and questionnaires. The results of this study indicate that the social life of cual cloth woven craftsmen in the Selindung Lama village, when viewed from the number of Cual cloth woven craftsmen from 2010 to 2019, has decreased, but the decrease in the number of artisans has not reduced people's interest in Cual cloth. One of the social groups in the Selindung Lama village, namely Cual Cloth Weaving, SB Maslina, aims to develop and preserve Bangka's typical Cual cloth weaving. Then the style of craftsman interaction is harmonious, helping each other, and respecting each other. Meanwhile, the economic life of Cual cloth woven craftsmen in the Selindung Lama village can be seen from the modest initial capital and a gedogan loom. Then the marketing strategy used by utilising social media and online shopping applications. Not only that, Maslina Cual cloth products also received assistance from the government and PT Timah to sell their products at Tins Galleries, and the City Dekranasda. Meanwhile, the income of artisans is sufficient for the Pangkalpinang city minimum wage standard.
