Abstract

Lowland rice farming is one of the most widely practiced farming activities in Indonesia. Lowland rice farmer in Gedung Buruk Village is the main occupation of some of the people there. Gedung Buruk Village is located in the vicinity of the water area so that many people also carry out fish capture activities to increase household income. The purposes of implementing this research were to (1) calculating income from fish capture activities and lowland rice farming in Gedung Buruk Village, Muara Belida District (2) calculating the household income of lowland rice farmers in Gedung Buruk Village, Muara Belida District (3) calculating the expenditure of the lowland rice farmers household in Gedung Buruk Village, Muara Belida District (4) calculating the contribution level of fish capture income to the household income of lowland rice farmers in Gedung Buruk Village, Muara Belida District. This research was conducted in Gedung Buruk Village, Muara Belida District, Muara Enim Regency. This location was chosen on purpose. Data collection at the research location was carried out from December 2022 to January 2023. The method used in this research was the survey method. Sample determination of this research using a simple random sampling method with population 400 people and sample 40 respondents. The results of the research showed that the income from lowland rice field farming was Rp11.310.525,00 per annum. Income from the fish capture activities was Rp15.440.128,00 per annum. The household income of lowland rice farmers in Gedung Buruk Village was Rp55.390.653,00 per annum. The household expenditure of lowland rice farmers in Gedung Buruk Village was Rp33.435.565,00 per annum. The level of income contribution from fish capture activities to the household income of lowland rice farmers in Gedung Buruk Village was 27.87%, which is categorized as a low contribution.
