Abstract

The purpose of this research is to: (1) to analyze the benefits and effects of ameliorant doses on maize growth in the RPH-G concession land. (2) To analyze the cost of each type of amelioran dose used on maize in the study area. (3) To analyze the effect of the amelioran on corn farming income seen from the cost of each dose in the study area. This research was conducted in the RPH-G concession land of the Department of Agriculture and Food Security, Gandus District, Palembang City. Location selection is done purposively or intentionally. Data collection was carried out from January to March 2023. The research method used in this research is action research and survey methods. Sampling method used is the census sampling method with a total of 33 farmers as respondents. The data used in this study consisted of primary data and secondary data. The results showed that (1) the benefits of giving and adding ameliorants to corn had a significant effect on plant height, number of leaves and fresh corn cob weight. The best treatment was in the high dose treatment of amelioran, (2) The cost per kilogram of corn varied in each treatment. The lowest cost of production is found in the high dose treatment. Each additional dose of ameliorant treatment for corn causes an increase in production yields which has an impact on lower cost of goods, (3) Giving amelioran to corn affects income. Corn farming using amelioran received a higher income of Rp. 37.199.323 compared to farmers' corn farming without ameliorant of Rp. 23.268.000. Where the provision of ameliorant has the opportunity and potential to increase production and income from corn farming.
