Abstract
The objectives of this study are: (1) Identifying local wisdom applied by wetland rice farmers in Danau Cala Village, (2) Analyzing the behavior of farmers in conducting wetland rice farming in Danau Cala Village, (3) Studying how wetland rice farmers carry out survival strategies for survival in Danau Cala Village. This research was conducted in Danau Cala Village, Lais District. The selection of research locations and sampling was done purposively. Data collection has been carried out from December 2022 until completion. The research method used is the survey method. The sample selection was carried out by purposive sampling as many as 30 respondents with the criteria of research respondents, namely wetland rice farmers in Danau Cala Village who also farm chili plants and traditional fishing businesses. The results of the study showed that (1) wetland rice farmers in Danau Cala village have local wisdom such as using traditional tools and planting seeds beforehand to carry out farming, (2) The behavior of wetland rice farmers using local wisdom is included in the high criteria, and (3). Farmers' income does not meet the standard of living needs (KHL) of Lake Cala village. Therefore, farmers carry out survival strategies, namely active strategies such as farming chili plants and traditional fish catches, passive strategies by making savings, and network strategies such as borrowing money from relatives/family and utilizing government assistance (BLT).
