Abstract

The title of this research is “Development of Banyuasin Regency in 2002-2013. The problems studied in this study are why Banyuasin separated from Musi Banyuasin district, how was the process of forming Banyuasin district, and how was the development of Banyuasin district in 2002-2013. The purpose of this research is to find out why Banyuasin separated from Musi Banyuasin district, to find out how the process of forming Banyuasin district, and how the development of Banyuasin district in 2002-2013. The method used is historical research methods, namely Heuristics, Source Criticism, Interpretation, and Historiography. The approach used in this study is a political, social, economic and geographic approach. The results of this study indicate that Banyuasin separated itself because of the vast area of Musi Banyuasin district, the process of forming the Banyuasin district involved several community leaders, community organizations and other figures, as well as in the development of researchers researching the government, social and economic fields. And it can be seen from these three fields that the state of government in infrastructure development is increasing as time goes on, the social situation in the fields of education, health and population is growing and the economic situation per capita income is getting better, this is because the sources of regional income are increasing, both plantations and his farm.
