Abstract
Adaptation and mitigation are one of the first steps in carrying out a policy to reduce the negative impacts of climate change that cause damage to farmers' paddy fields. The objectives of this study are (1) Identifying what conditions cause floods in rice fields in Merah Mata Village, Banyuasin District 1, Banyuasin Regency, (2) Knowing the recommendations for adaptation and mitigation strategies for rice farmers in Merah Mata Village in the Face of Seasonal Floods that hit paddy fields. (3) Knowing the adaptation and mitigation strategies of rice farmers in dealing with seasonal floods on paddy fields in Merah Mata Village, Banyuasin I District, Banyuasin Regency. Place and Time of Research This research was carried out in Merah Mata Village, Banyuasin District 1, Banyuasin Regency. The time for collecting and collecting research data in the field is carried out in February 2023 until it is completed. After calculations related to the 2 recommendation indicators where the adaptation recommendations have good criteria with an average score of 2.22 as well as mitigation recommendations have good criteria with an average score of 2.19. The conditions that cause flooding are geographical and topographical conditions, land typology, infrastructure conditions, rainfall, temperature and humidity. The adatasi strategy in the grand strategy matrix leads to the second quadrant section
