Abstract

Carbon dioxide (CO2) emissions has increased every year. CO2 is a greenhouse gas that keep the earth’s temperature stable. However, the concentration of greenhouse gases including CO2 which continues to increase causes an increase in the average temperature of the earth which is called global warming. This makes all countries work together through the Paris agreement to be able to reduce greenhouse gas emissions in each sector that is contributor to GHG emissions. In this study, an analysis was carried out to find out the factors that influence the increase in CO2 emissions, including forest are, electricity production, and population growth. The data processed are in the form of time series data in the form of time series data for 2011–2018 using the simple and multiple linear regression analysis method. The result of the analysis show that forest area has a negative effect on CO2, while electricity production and population growth have a positive effect on CO2. The result of analysis also show that there is an influence between CO2 on air temperature and rainfall with a low correlation.
