Abstract

Lebak land is land whose water needs are affected by rain, both that falss in he local area as well as in the surrounding and upstream areas. Jagaraja village is one of the villages that has the widest area in Rantau Panjang. The aims of this study were: (1) to describe the cultivation of lebak paddy rice farming in Jagaraja Village, Rantau Panjang District, Ogan Ilir Regency. (2) Calculating the income of farmers and the level of profit from farming lebak paddy rice in Jagaraja Village, Rantau Panjang District, Ogan Ilir Regency. (3) Describe the dynamic patterns of land use for farmers in Jagaraja Village, Rantau Panjang District, Ogan Ilir Regency. The selection of this location was carried out purposively (purposive sampling) with the consideration that Rantau Panjang District is the majority of Lebak lowland rice production and is a fairly large rice producer in Ogan Ilir Regency. The implementation time is from October to December 2021. The method used in this research is a survey method. With a questionnaire as a reference for systematic preparation. Determination of farmer samples using simple random sampling method because the data obtained from farmers is homogeneous with a land area of 0.5-1 ha. The samples taken in this study were 38 samples, because in the village there are farmer groups and each member has the same land area, namely 0.5-1 Ha, determine which of the 38 farmer samples is classified according to the farmer group. Samples were taken randomly using the lottery method from each member of the group so that all members of the farmer group had the same opportunity to provide information. The data collected in this study are primary and secondary data. Rice farming is the main livelihood in Jagaraja Village. The planted land has an area of 0.5-1 ha with the Gora IP 200 rice planting process generally starting with tillage, planting, fertilizing along with weeding, pest control and harvesting. Total average income per year planted area obtained from the difference between the amount of income with the total cost of rice farming is Rp26.956.367. Based on the R/C value is 5,13 which means > 1, it can be stated that lowland rice farming in the research area is feasible or profitable. Land use by farmers aims to increase profits from the results of various agricultural commodities. Therefore, from year to year there is an increase in the use of land for paddy rice, secondary crops, vegetable gardens, orchards, oil palm and rubber.
