Abstract

The presence of RCEP in Indonesia triggers criticism from civil society in Indonesia who are committed to criticizing the issues of free trade agreements and international investment agreements that can marginalize the rights that should be owned by the people, and ensure that the government gives its responsibility to provide protection for the interests of the people from corporate interests in economic liberalization. The purpose of this research is to discuss and analyze the response given by IGJ as a civil society in Indonesia to RCEP in Indonesia in 2022. The research method used in this research is descriptive analysis method. The data sources obtained by researchers in this study are secondary data sources with data collection techniques using literature study techniques and primary data sources with data collection techniques carrying out interviews with IGJ executive directors conducted virtually. In this study, researchers used advocacy theory as a tool for analyzing IGJ's efforts in responding to RCEP in Indonesia in 2022, using three dimensions, namely the first strategy carried out by IGJ in collaboration with other civil society to discuss statements from each civil society to carry out an action, second IGJ mobilization cooperates with other civil societies that have the same goal of wanting to reject RCEP in Indonesia, third IGJ together with other coalitions and networks implement the campaign strategy that has been prepared.
