Abstract

The rainfall of Palembang is high enough to be very unfortunate if not utilized. And the need for clean water has increased and the cost of taps usage rates also vary depending on customer class. Therefore made rainwater tanks so that rain water is not only wasted in vain. and can also provide economic value to society. Case studies or planning is done in Palembang as the data obtained BMKG Klimatologi Stasion Kias 1 Kenten Palembang and the costs of PDAM Tirta Musi Palembang. This plan is expected to analyze the feasibility of making rainwater tanks (PAH) to reduce the use of water from the local water company (PDAM). In planning the tank is made watertight brick masonry with a capacity of 18 m3 and the number of 5 people in one house type 45 and 55 m of roof area. Budget plan for the manufacture of PAH is Rp. 16.500.000, - and there are nine months to meet the needs of clean water in one year. The results of the analysis of the feasibility of making a single unit with a capacity of 18 m3 of PAH by several methods such as payback period method shows that the customer taps class 2C, 2D, 2E, 3A, and 3B may retum the Capital in less than 30 years of investment so it is economical to construct PAH the; method of discounted payback period, net present value (NPV), the annual equivalent (AE) and benefit cost ratio (BCR) showed that PAHs investing only for PDAM customers with class 3B will be economically viable if it is made of rainwater tanks (PAH) used for 30 years.
