Abstract

This research was literary research. The research was carried out using qualitative research methods and a qualitative approach. Researchers used descriptive qualitative methods. The objective of this research was to examine and describe the character building values from novel, as well as the implications for learning Indonesian in junior and senior high schools. The Bunda, Cinta Dua Kodi novel by Asma Nadia was the subject of this research. According to the National Education System Law, the research focused on 18 character education values. The value of character education was then divided into four contexts, namely the relationship between humans and God, the relationship between humans and themselves, the relationship between humans and society, and the relationship between humans and the environment. According to the research findings, there were 47 character building values derived from quotes in the novel. Seven quotes about the human and God relationship, 23 quotes about the human and self relationship, 16 quotes about the human and society relationship, and 1 quote about the human and environment relationship.
