Abstract

The purposes of this research were (1) how is the intensity of rubber plantation maintenance and what factors determine whether farmers do or do not carry out these activities in Tanah Abang Village. (2) how is the marketing system and Farmer share in Tanah Abang Village. (3) whether there are differences in the income of farmers who do and do not carry out maintenance. Farmers who carry out maintenance in Tanah Abang Village start from clearing the land, making dishes and fertilizing with maintenance intensity of 2 times per year. Individual capital and age factors have a significant effect on farmers’ decisions while land area and education individually have on significant effect on farmers’ decisions to do and not carry out maintenance. Slab marketing in Tanah Abang Village is efficient with a Farmer's share of 81.52% with marketing channels from farmers selling to village collectors then collecting traders selling to factories. The income of farmers who do it with an average of Rp41.344.709 and do not carry out maintenance with an average of Rp33.428.893 with unequal income levels, get the results of an independent sample T-test then reject H0 means that there is a difference between farmers who do and do not carry out maintenance of rubber plants in Tanah Abang Village
