Abstract
Two field experiments had been conducted as efforts to enhance growth and increase yield of snap bean (Phaseolus vulgaris L.). The Sriwijaya, Bukit Besar, Palembang in 1991. Snap bean used was local cultivars. Objective of the experiments were to evaluate effects of nitrogen rates and apical pruning on yield of snap bean. Results of studies indicated that increasing nitrogen rates up to 67,5 kg N/ha improved nodule development, nitrogen uptake by the plant, and growth rates of plant. Plants inoculated with Higer phospate rates (200 kg P2O2/ha) and apical pruning increasen yield of snap bean plants.
