Abstract

Nowadays, concrete are used in almost every construction, even for buildings, bridges, roads and so forth. The use of concrete construction as the dominant structural components, of course, due to considerations of concrete construction is more robust, durable, inexpensive and easy to shape as desired compared to other construction, such as Steel. This study used four combinations Pumice (BA) as a substitute for coarse aggregate and fly as h (FA) as a substitute for cement which the combination are (1) 5% BA + 20% FA; (2) 10% BA + 20% FA; (3) 15% BA + 20% FA; (4) 20% BA + 20% FA. Results of the study showed that concrete with a combination of (1) 5% BA + 20% FA has a high compressive strength value is equal to 205.66 kg / cm , a decrease in compressive strength is 26.11% from the normal concrete. Then the combination of (2) 10% BA + 20% FA has a compressive strength value of 159.53 kg / cm2 and a decrease in the compressive strength of concrete at 41.57% from the normal concrete. the combination of (3) 15% BA + 20% FA has the compressive strength is equal to 133.40 kg / cm2 and decreased compressive strength of normal concrete at 51.14%. whereas the combination of (4) 20% BA + 20% FA has a compressive strength value i s equal to 118.49 kg / cm2 and decreased compressive strength from normal concrete at 56.60%.
