Abstract

This study discusses the Life of Coin Collector Children in Merak Harbor, Banten, Pier IV. This study aims to, 1. What are the activities and social life of coin collector children at Pier IV of Merak Port, Banten? 2. What is the background of the coin collecting activities carried out by children at Merak Harbor, Pier IV Banten? This study uses a qualitative descriptive method, with a qualitative approach. The theory of this research uses Max Weber's traditional action theory. Data collection techniques used are observation, in-depth interviews, and documentation. The results of research on how the activities and social life of coin collector children at Pier IV Merak Banten are social life, working time and amount of income. And the background of coin collecting activities carried out by children at Port IV Pier IV Merak Banten is absolute poverty, relative poverty, structural poverty, and results in low income, low education, limited job opportunities, and culture.
