Abstract

This study was aimed to know the relationship between religiosity and death anxiety of terminal illness patients. The hypothesis in this study is “There is relationship between religiosity and death anxiety of terminal illness patients”. The research sample included 100 partisipants and for the try out included 50 partisipan of terminal illness patients at Islamic Hospital Siti Khadijah. This study used purposive sampling technique. Religiosity and death anxiety was measured by the scale based on the religiosity dimension of Ancok and Suroso (2011) and death anxiety aspects of Templer etc.(2006) who have been modified by researchers. Analysis of data using Spearman rank correlation method. The result on this study showed that there is relationship between religiosity and death anxiety of terminal illness patients with value of r = -0,465, and p = 0,000 (p<0,05). The relationship between these variables shows moderate and negative correlation, which means the higher the religiosity a person had the lower the death anxiety would be, and otherwise. Thus the hypothesis in this research was accepted. Keywords: Religiosity, Death Anxiety
