Abstract

This study aims to determine the role of mental health literacy towards help-seeking on undergraduate students. The hypothesis in this study is that there is a role for mental health literacy towards help-seeking on college students. Respondents in this study were 379 undergraduate active students in Sriwijaya University. The sampling technique used is insidental sampling. The measuring instrument used is the ATSPPH-SF by Fischer and Farina (1995) which was adapted into Indonesian by Nurdiyanto, Wulandari and Wodong (2021) and the MHL scale by Jung, Sternberg and Davis (2016) which was adapted into Indonesian by Fatahya and Abidin (2022).Data analysis in this study used simple regression technique. The results of the regression analysis showed that the R square value between mental health literacy and help-seeking was 0,215; the F value was 103,346 and the significance value was 0,000 (p<0,005). This show that mental health literacy has a significant role in help-seeking, thus the hypothesis proposed in this study can be accepted.
