Abstract

An induction heater or what can be called also an induction heater is a device or circuit that is capable of producing heat and heating objects with an induction system. The principle of heating due to the presence of eddy currents generated by the magnetic flux originating from the coil that is energized by alternating electric current. This induction heater has been widely used in all fields, one of which is in the health sector, namely in medical device sterilization machines. To make a heat induction device for a sterilizer requires several components, namely a power supply, an induction heating module, and a working coil wire, so that voltage, current, time to reach the sterilization temperature of 170 °C can be measured as well as the calculation of the power and heat energy required. generated. In this study, the length and number of coil wires used in the sterilizer were tested, namely a coil length of 7 meters with a total of 53 coils, a coil length of 9 meters with a total of 58 coils, and a length of 11 meters with a total of 63 coils. Where of the three lengths and the number of turns used at a length of 7 meters produces the largest voltage, current and power, namely 55 Volts, 4.04 Amperes and 111.1 Watts and at a length of 11 meters produces the highest voltage, current and power small, namely 50.6 Volts, 2.08 Amperes, 52.624 Watts. The fastest heating time was found on a coil wire length of 11 meters, namely 26.25 minutes and the longest on a wire length of 7 meters, which was 37.20 minutes. The results showed that the length and number of turns of the coil wire affect the value of the voltage, current, and power produced, this is because the length and number of turns determine the size of the induced emf and the resulting magnetic flux.
