Abstract

Research about the influence of acetic acid toward the concentration of Fe, Cu and protein in water hyacinth leaf has been done. Protein was analyzed by kjedahl method while Fe and Cu were analyzed by atomic absorption spectroscopy after wet destruction. Variation of acetic acid concentration were 0.5% (v/v), 1.0% (v/v) and 2.0% (v/v) as immersion solution. Each concentration was done during immersion time 8 hours, 16 hours and 24 hours. Result of this research show that variation of acetic acid concentration little bit influence all parameter than variation of immersion time. Longer immersion time decreased % protein in leaf. Immersion during 24 hours decreased protein concentration 58.02% for acetic acid 2.0% (v/v). Longer immersion time during 16 hours decreased Fe and Cu concentration. During 24 hours metal unsure readsorbed to leaf. Fe more readsorbed during 24 hours with decreasing percentage 72.31% than Cu which more electronegative with decreasing percentage 64.34% for acetic acid 2.0% (v/v).
