Abstract

Gastropods community is an important component in the food chain in the seagrass beds. This research aims to determine the species composistion, seagrass density, gastropods density, gastropods community structure and to know the association between the density of seagrass with gastropods density. This research was conducted in May – July 2018, with using 1x1 m quadrant transect method. Data were collected from 4 stations, that each was divided into 3 transects and measurement of the physical and chemical parameters of the water were repeated 3 times. The results of research in Island Tangkil found 16 species consisting of 6 ordo and 8 families of gastropods. The highest density of gastropods was dominated by Turridae sp, while for seagrass consist of 3 species, from 2 ordo, and 3 families. The highest density of seagrass is the species of E. acoroides with a density value of 2 – 48 tegakan/m2. Association of seagrass density with gastropod density on Tangkil Island has a moderate relationship with a correlation value of 0,6693, and is apositive association. Gastropod diversity index value 1,695 which is categorized as moderate, evenness index 0,9425 which is classified as stable and dominance index 0,1925 which is classified as low.
