Abstract

Abstract Piagěm Palembang's findings from the 17th-18th centuries are stored in the Jakarta National Museum, the South Sumatra State Museum, the Sultan Mahmud Badaruddin Museum (SMB) 2 and in the hands of the public. In this article, two Piagěm will be studied, namely Piagěm Tanaḥ Habaŋ and Piagěm Rambāŋ. The purpose of this article is to analyze the contents of Piagěm Tanaḥ Habaŋ and Piagěm Rambāŋ. The method used to answer these objectives by using historical methods consists of heuristics, source criticism, interpretation and historiography. Based on the results of historical studies, it is known that the contents contained in all Piagěm Palembang refer to the rules enforced by the Sultanate of Palembang, these rules were written on copper plates. This copper plate was then given to regional leaders who recognized the power of the Palembang Sultanate. Based on this study, it can be concluded that Piagěm Palembang is a rule socialized to the territory of the Sultanate of Palembang.
