Abstract

Penelitian bertujuan untuk mengetahui pemberian pupuk urea yang optimal dan pengendalian gulma yang efektif pada pertumbuhan bibit karet jenis mata tidur di pembibitan. Penelitian dilaksanakan di Kebun Percobaan Jurusan Budidaya Pertanian, Fakultas Pertanian, Universitas Sriwijaya, Indralaya,Ogan Ilir. Waktu pelaksanaan penelitian dimulai pada awal bulan Februari 2011 sampai dengan bulan Juni 2011.Penelitian ini menggunakan Rancangan Acak Kelompok (RAK) yang disusun secara faktorial 3x3 sehingga ada 9 perlakuan dengan 3 ulangan. Faktor pertama dosis pupuk urea (U) : (Uo) tanpa perlakuan pupuk urea, (Ui) 2 gram pupuk urea per tanaman, (U2) 4 gram urea per tanaman. Faktor kedua dosis herbisida pra-tumbuh (D) : (Do) tanpa herbisida, (Di) 1,5 liter formulasi ha, (D2) 3 liter formulasi ha. Parameter yang diamati meliputi : kecepatan tumbuh tunas, tinggi tunas, diameter tunas, jumlah daun, persentase bibit tumbuh, bobot kering akar, gulma yang tumbuh, tingkat keracunan tanaman, dan efisiensi pengendalian tanaman. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa faktor dosis herbisida berpengaruh sangat nyata terhadap bobot kering gulma bulan pertama, serta berpengaruh nyata terhadap peubah bobot kering bulan kedua dan peubah diameter tunas.
