Abstract

Excessive body movement, repetitive movements and awkward posture at work rubber farmer has risks that can lead to musculoskeletal disorders in workers. This can affect the productivity, efficiency and effectiveness of workers in completing the work. This research is a qualitative study using observation assessment tool posture Rapid Entire Body Assessment (REBA) to determine the level of ergonomic risk assessment through awkward posture (neck, spine, leg, upper arm, forearm, wrist), weight, hand grip and activities in the rubber farmer. This research was conducted in Cambai District, Prabumulih City in May-June 2018. The results of this study indicate that the level of risk in the rubber farmer two categories, high risk level and very high risk level. High risk at the process sharpen knife, tapping trees and forming rubber while very high risk level at the process moving rubber to temporary container. To reduce ergonomic risk level is necessary to change the action and the movement of workers, the provision of working tools and changes in the design of workers.
