Abstract

The increasing need of raw water each year due to the increasing number of population and limited availability of raw water from rivers became of the reasons of kolong utilization to be an alternative source of raw water in the Bangka Belitung Islands. The analysis in this study aimed to determine the quantity of water availability in one month observation, namely on March 26 - April 25 2018 with real data in the field, knowing the average monthly inflow and average monthly evaporation that occurred in the last 10 years, namely 2008 - 2017, and finding out the reservoir volume capacity of Kolong DAM III Pemali. The concept used in determining the availability of water in this study was water balance, to determine the inflow that goes into Kolong by using Singapore Rational Method, and the analysis of water loss that occured were in the form of infiltration, evaporation, and the one from the outlet. Evaporation was analyzed by using Energy Balance method, Mass Transfer, and Modified Penman. Based on the analysis of water availability in the observation month, it was found that the evaporation was 3,390,742 m³/month which means that there was sufficient water supply to PDAM and BBIS in a month namely about 298,080 m3/month and the rest was still 3,092,662 m3 that could be utilized further. The highest monthly average inflow in ten years (2008 – 2017) occured in March with average surface flow of 371,689.97 m3 / month and direct rainfall of 204,352 m3/month. The lowest one occurred in August with an average surface runoff of 122,344.5 m3/month and direct rainfall of 67,264 m3/month. Water losses in 2008 - 2017 due to the highest average monthly evaporation that occured in August because of the peak of the dry month so that climatic conditions became warm which triggered high evaporation. The amount of evaporation in one year was 37879,852m3/year. The storage volume capacity based on the peak elevation of the DAM III Pemali was known to be at an elevation of +16 masl with storage volume of 1594208.98 m³ and the optimum capacity at elevation +13.6 masl with a storage volume of 634120.15 m
