Abstract

In 2021, Mesuji Makmur District found a diarrhea incidence of 17.53%, which is greater than other sub-districts in Ogan Komering Ilir Regency. The study used a cross sectional design. The population in this study was mothers who had toddlers aged 18-58 months with a total sample of 99 rspondent. The analysis used chi square statistical test and multiple logistic regression. The results showed that there was a relationship between maternal education (p = 0.009), maternal knowledge (p = 0.001), mother's hand washing habits (p = 0.001), immunization (0.021), exclusive breastfeeding (p = 0.001), clean water facilities (p = 0.001) and latrine facilities (p = 0.001) with the incidence of diarrhea in toddlers in Mesuji Makmur District, Ogan Komering Ilir Regency Meanwhile, there was no relationship between children's nutritional status (p = 1,000) and diarrhea events in toddlers in Mesuji Makmur District. It can be concluded that there is a relationship between education, knowledge, hand washing habits, immunization, exclusive breastfeeding, clean water facilities and latrines on the incidence of diarrhea in Mesuji Makmur with the variable of hand washing habits being the most influential factor on the incidence of diarrhea in toddlers.
