Abstract

Palembang Darussalam Sultanate was a Muslim Sultanate that emerged in the 17th century. In the 18th century, the sultanate was the development of Islam in Palembang with becoming the center of Islamic civilization and the assessment of Islam in the archipelago, so the sultanate reached the height of glory. In the 18- 19th century Palembang Darussalam Sultanate very active in building religious facilities, the palace, and cemetery. The building various unique characteristics and have high aesthetic, the building found in Palembang, for example, are Masjid Agung, Istana Kuto Besak, and Kawah Tekurep. The buildings are a heritage of technology developed by the Palembang Darussalam Sultanate; its can be still found until now. The technology has very higher with local genius and local content and has unique character. Therefore, this paper wants to examine the heritage of the Palembang Darussalam Sultanate technology from the 18-19th century was still found in the Palembang city. This paper is a theoretical study using the written data sources and results of direct observation of various civilization heritage of the Palembang Darussalam Sultanate.
