Abstract
The easiness of obtaining the information of road location via GPS on smartphone will run into problems if the mapping of an area escpecially in Kayu Agung city is not compatible with the real situation or not up to date. It is caused by the existing maps which are not updated and adapted to current condition. Therefore, it is needed to have the up to date road network map supported by GPS on Android, so that the obtained information for the map is compatible with the existing road network. In this research, the mapping of the road network was supported by Visum program. The mapping of network needed the coordinates’ position of each nodes path obtained from google earth. When drawing each nodes path, the coordinates’ data were put in Visum program so that the position of each nodes placed on their own coordinates. The node path which was on the right position then interconnected with link that obtained with the view on google earth so that the result of road network’s mapping formed into the interconnected road network. The result of this research is a map of the new road network in Kayu Agung City by combining the results map of existing road network on the google earth and the road network that does not exist on google earth. There are 482 links and 1026 nodes on the new road network in Kayu agung.
