Abstract

Basa Schiff disintesis dari reaksi kondensasi antara 2-hidroksi benzaldehid dan anilin. Basa Schiff hasil sintesis dikarakterisasi dengan spektrofotometer FT-IR, spektrofotometer H-NMR dan identifikasi dengan metode Kromatografi Lapis Tipis (KLT). Spektrum FTIR menunjukan vibrasi gugus azometin (C=N) pada bilangan gelombang 1614 cm-1 serta diperkuat oleh spektrum H-NMR yang menunjukkan pergeseran kimia (Hδ) 8,926 ppm dengan multipisitas singlet yang merupakan proton pada gugus azometin. Uji KLT senyawa basa Schiff dengan menggunakan eluen kloroform:methanol (9:1) menghasilkan Rf sebesar 0,44. Hasil Spektrum UV-Vis menunjukkan pergeseran hipsokromik pada pH asam sedangkan pada pH basa menunjukan pergeseran batokromik. Basa Schiff hasil sintesis paling larut pada pelarut DMSO. Basa Schiff hasil sintesis tidak selektif terhadap anion F- karena ketika dipengaruhi oleh anion lain (Cl- dan I-) panjang gelombang maksimum tidak menunjukkan pergeseran. Analisis interaksi basa Schiff dengan anion fluorida dengan menggunakan spektrofotometer UV-Vis menghasilkan kurva kalibrasi yang menurun. Batas deteksi dan batas kuantitasi anion fluorida masing-masing sebesar 0,038 mg/L dan 0,0128 mg/L.
