Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pemahaman konsep siswa terhadap konsep Hukum Newton menggunakan Instrumen Inventory Of Basic Conceptions-Mechanics (IBCM). Penelitian ini dilakukan di SMAN 1 Indralaya dengan subjek penelitian siswa SMAN 1 Indralaya kelas XI IPA 1 dan XI IPA 4 yang berjumlah 59 orang. Data dikumpulkan dengan menggunakan instrument IBCM yang dilengkapi dengan Certainty of Response Index (CRI). Metode yang digunakan adalah deskriptif kuantatif. Hasil penelitian yang didapatkan miskonsepsi pada materi Hukum Newton 59.8% yang mendominasi kategori lainnya, sedangkan kategori kurang pengetahuan (kurang paham materi) dan paham konsep sebesar 25% dan 15.1%. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian di SMAN 1 Indralaya masih banyak siswa yang belum paham mengenai konsep Hukum Newton dilihat dari persentase paham konsep siswa untuk konsep Hukum I Newton sebesar 16.6%, konsep Hukum II Newton sebesar 12.4% dan Hukum III Newton 14.7%.
