Abstract
Normalization is an attempt to restore the water supply function in irrigation networks to their original condition. This research is located in Rukun Makmur Village, Pulau Rimau District, Banyuasin Regency. Agricultural land in Rukun Makmur Village have a secondary channel functioning as carrier channel and discharge channel. The channel cannot drain water into the fields and out of the fields as supposed to. The purpose of normalizing the channel is to overcome the problems that occur such as floods and droughts in agricultural land in Rukun Makmur Village. This study uses primary data from field observations obtained at the SID OPLA activities and secondary data from BMKG Palembang City, Kenten Station. This study uses hydrological analysis and hydraulic analysis. Hydrological analysis in the form of calculation of planned water demand discharge and flood discharge. While the hydraulic analysis is in the form of calculating the dimensions of the secondary irrigation channel and continued with simulations using HEC-RAS 4.1.0. For the final results of the study, the sampled channel 1 obtained a maximum planned water discharge of 0.030 m3/s, and a maximum flood discharge of 3.82 m3/s, dimensions for normalizing irrigation canals with a bottom width of 3.18 m, top width of 8.77 m, and a channel height of 1.86 m. After knowing the suitable cannel design, then proceed with finding the total excavation to normalize the channel. With the existing excavation, the estimated cost for the normalization of the channel is Rp 1,014,500,000.00.
