Abstract

Concrete technology developed along with the use of additional material thal serves to enhance the performance or the properties of concrete, in connection with the use of fiber in the concrete is being developed at this time ranging from natural fiber s or artificial fibers. Fiber concrete is a composite material consisting of ordinary concrete and other materials in the form of fiber. Fiber is generally in theform of rods - rods with a diameter ofbetween 5 and 500 mm (macro-meter) long and about 25 mm to 100 mm. Fiber materials i n the form of asbes tos fibers, fibers grow - plants (hemp, bamboo, pai m fiber, pai m fiber empty fruit bunches) and plastic fibers (polypropylene) or a piece of Steel wire. The problems discussed in this thesis is how the behavior of concrete which w as mixed with additional ingredients of oil palm empty fruit bunch fiber in bending tensile strength test. The purpose of this study was t o observe the effect of oil palm empty fruit bunch fiber on Jlexural tensile strength of concrete. The parameters used in this study is the percentage of of oil palm empty fruit bunch fiber as an additive in concrete mbctures. To limit the scope of the problem then made the problem constraints are: a planned strength of concrete using concrete fc '= 25 MP a where the percentage of oil palm empty fruit bunch fiber by 0.2%, 0.5%, and 0.8% of weight of cement by using the Standard ACI. The size of that used in the flexural tensile strength test using concrete dimensions (10x10x50) cm. The method carried out in the writing of this report by performing experimental tests where the data in the writing of this final report consists ofprimary data obtainedfrom the results of laboratory
