Abstract

The preconception period is the period before pregnancy which is assumed to be a Woman of Reproductive Age (WUS) who is ready to become a mother. Based on the health profile of Ogan Ilir Regency, in 2019 the prevalence of anemia in pregnant women was 5.23% and it has increased to 13.27% in 2020. This study aims to determine the relationship between intake of micronutrients (iron, vitamin C, and folic acid) with Hb levels in WUS in the working area of the Tanjung Batu Health Center, Ogan Ilir Regency. This type of research is a quantitative description with an approachcross sectional, which is a follow-up study from the previous main researcher. The number of respondents was 88 respondents aged 20-35 years who met the inclusion and exclusion criteria which were taken using thepurposive sampling. The test used in this study is testfisher exact. Statistical test results showed that 2.3% of WUS had anemia. In addition, it is known that 89.8% of WUS have less iron intake. Meanwhile, 87.5% of WUS had insufficient intake of vitamin C and 94.3% of WUS had insufficient intake of folic acid. Test resultsFisher Exact found no significant relationship between intake of iron (Fe) (p value = 1,000), intake of vitamin C (p value = 1,000), and intake of folic acid(p value= 1,000) with Hb levels on WUS. The conclusion of this research is that there is no relationship between iron intake (p value = 1,000), vitamin C (p value = 1,000) and folic acid (p value = 1,000) with Hb levels in WUS in the Working Area of the Tanjung Batu Health Center, Ogan Ilir Regency. It is hoped that WUS will increase their intake of micronutrients (iron, vitamin C and folic acid) and pay attention to the selection of food sources.
