Abstract
PT. Baturona Adimulya is one of the coal mining company located in Palembang – Sungai Lilin Simpang 108 Keluang Dusun III Supat Barat, Babat Supat District, Musi Banyuasin Regency, South Sumatera Province. Mined coal is commonly used as fuel for Steam Power, fuel for factories, as well as alternative fuels for gas and oil. Mined coal will be stacked on a stockpile or temporary stock before transporting to the consumer. Periodic volume monitoring is one of the most important things in the control of stockpile management to determine the volume of coal in the stockpile. Cut and fill method is a coal volume calculation method often used in coal mining activities. The principle of calculating the volume of coal using cut and fill method is to calculate the area of two cross sections and the distance between the upper cross section and the lower cross section. Data collection can be measuring directly in the field to know the dimensions of coal stockpile. The calculation of coal stockpile volume can using some kind of software. The study of the results of coal stockpile volume calculation by using cut and fill method on some software still needed to give description comparison of calculation result. The calculation of coal stockpile volume in the research using cut and fill method, Surpac and Vulcan software too. The result of total coal volume calculation using cut and fill method on stockpile is 59.711,95 m3 and the result of each coal volume calculation using Surpac and Vulcan software is 59,538 m3 and 59,648.74 m3. The difference percentage based on the tonnage value of the Surpac and Vulcan software is 0,85% and 1,04%, which means that the accuracy of the calculation using the Surpac software is closer to the actual tonnage, its means for calculation of coal volume in stockpile is beter using Surpac software.
