Abstract

This thesis entitled TherapeuJic Comm1Dlication Effectivity Between Counselor and Resident al Yayasan Cahaya Putra Sela/an Palembang. Therapeutic Communication (KT) is a consciously planned communication aimed al focusing on patient healing, and is a professional communication that leads to the goal of healing the patient. In the South PuJra Cah.aya Foundation, the implementation of KT is done by the counselor to the resident of the KT program aimed at stopping the drug abuse and pushing toward personal growth. This study aims to find out lww the ejfediveness of KT Between Counselor and Resident at Yayasan Cahaya Putra Selatan Palembang. The type of this thesis research is descriptive research using qualitative approach method to describe the effectiveness of KT conducted by counselor to resident. The data used in the form of primary data and secondary data obtained through observation, interviews, and docwnemation. This study was analyzed usmg the theories according to Stewart L.tubbs and Sylvia Moss (1996) on (frve) signs of effective communication ie Understanding, fun. influencing attitudes, good social relations, and actions. The results of this study indicale that the implementation of KT conducted by the counselor to the resident goes well, On the implementation of therapeutic communication that has been applied lo the resident counselor in accordance with the theory used in this study, namely in providing understanding I understanding through messages, chan~es in attitude shown resident, then the social relations built by the resident well and the resident perform actions related to the KT program series.
