Abstract

Diarrhea is one of the most common problems and can cause death. In addition, there are several factors related to the incidence of diarrhea in toddlers, one of which is maternal factors and sanitary conditions. Maternal factors and sanitary conditions will have an impact on health and can cause diarrhea in toddlers in Ujan Mas District, Muara Enim Regency. This research is a quantitative research using Cross Sectional method. The sample in this study amounted to 82 toddlers aged (6- 58) months, with a sampling technique, namely the Purposive Sampling technique. The data obtained, univariate and bivariate analysis were carried out using SPSS in the chi-square test. The results of bivariate research found that there was a relationship between complementary feeding, CTPS behavior, clean water sources and the availability of trash cans with the incidence of diarrhea in toddlers , while exclusive breastfeeding, the condition of latrines and wastewater drains was not significantly associated with the incidence of diarrhea in toddlers in Ujan Mas District, Muara Enim Regency. The conclusion of the study, factors related to the incidence of diarrhea in toddlers are waste disposal (p-value = 0.032) and clean water sources (p-value 0.032 ). The suggestion from this study is that the community should be able to clean up water sources by ordering water filters and using closed trash cans and can reused.
