Abstract
Conveyor belt is carrying medium for material handling. At PT. Semen Padang, 31 units of conveyor beltis used to send limestone from four crushers to five storages. In purpose to achieve limestone conveying target, it is necessary to evaluate the theoretical and actual conveying productivity. The theoretical productivity of limestone conveying is determined by conveyor belt capacity which calculated according to its specifications: belt width, idler type and its angle, belt slope, drive pulley radius, and gearbox velocity. Actual productivity can be monitored directly from CCR (Central Control Room) by looking at the amount of limestone tonnage shipped divided by effective working time. The target of limestone conveying in August 2017 is 37000 ton per day. Limestone conveying tonnage that reached the target only in August 27th, 2017: 44637 tons (1905,305 tons/hour), and the lowest tonnage is on August 15th, 2017: 15060 tons (1143.507 tons/hour). Low tonnage of limestone conveying is caused by operational delay. Operational delay is the cessation time due to stand-by time (waiting for dump truck, lane transfers, etc.), breakdown / repair time (trouble on crusher, repair of belt fill, etc.), breaktime, and other causes. Theoretically, the delivery belt lines which has the highest productivity is LSC VI / IIIA - 6A1J07 - IND VI. While the lowest is LSC II / IIIA / B / VI - A4J12P - IND III. The limestone delivery productivity can be improved and reach the target with 3-Ways Crushing and Conveying (3-WCC) and 2-Ways Crushing and Conveying (2- WCC) patterns. 3-WCC is limestone delivery using 3 belt lines at the same time which has 4 variations of pattern, while 2-WCC is limestone delivery using 2 lines at the same time that has 25 variation of pattern.
