Abstract
Kenikir leaves (Cosmos caudatus. Kunth) contain various secondary metabolic compounds, quercetin which has the potential as an immunomodulator. This study aims to determine number of leukocytes, lymphocytes, neutrophils, monocytes, CD4 T cells, ODF ethanol extract film of kenikir leaves in Wistar rat strain and macroscopic and histopathalogic images of spleen organs. The research used Spektrofotometri UV-Vis, Hematalogy Analyzer and Pima Analyzer, Hematoxylin Eosin (HE) staining on spleen preparations and male white rats wistar strain weighing 150-250 grams and aged 2-3 months which were divided into 5 groups were divided into five groups. Normal (food), positive control (Stimuno), negative control (Orally Disollvong Film), Group I (Kenikir Leaves Extract), and group II (Orally Dissolving Film of Kenikir Leaves Extract). The total flavonoid content was 485.26 mg/gram of extract. Orally Dissolving Film Kenikir leaf extract has a film thickness of 0.09 mm, folding durability of 300, crushing time of 27.42 seconds, pH 4.05, weight uniformity of 2.313 ± 0.006 mg, uniformity of levels with 99.998% ± 0.337 and percent elongation up to 22.973%. Giving of Orally Dissolving Film extract ethanol of kenikir leaves dose 35 mg / kg BB treated group showed a significant (p<0.05) increase in the number of CD4 T cells, leukocytes, lymphocytes, monocytes, and neutrophils.. The ODF kenikir leaves extract treatment group did not show necrosis and bleeding on spleen the same as the positive group. In conclusion, ODF kenikir leaves t extract has immunomodulatory activity as an immunostimulant that is more effective than the kenikir leaves extract.
