Abstract

Polycrystalline photovoltaic panels are a tool for converting photon energy from sunlight into electrical energy. Installing photovoltaic panels outdoors can cause dust to accumulate on the dust surface. Experimental studies were carried out by sprinkling 3 grams of sand and brick dust measuring less than 425 µm. Based on the results of measurements and analyzes that have been carried out, the panel without treatment has the highest output power value of 3.55 W. Meanwhile, the solar panel with sand dust has an output power value of 2.97. Solar panels with brick dust have an output power value of 2.49 W. There is a decrease in the value of output power on solar panels without treatment compared to solar panels with dust. Solar panels with sand dust produce a higher output power than solar panels with brick dust, this can be due to differences in the characteristics of sand dust which has a coarser texture and larger particles compared to brick dust with a finer texture and smaller particles. The larger sand dust particles cause the surface area of the solar panels to be covered with less dust than brick dust so that more sunlight can be converted.
